Panelist Moderator Dan Corcoran NBC CT
Dan is always on a mission to find stories that have an impact on NBC Connecticut viewers and the community where he lives. His ‘Hidden In Plain Sight’ series explores the mysterious places that you may not even know exist in Connecticut. Another series he created is ‘What’s On Your Mind?’ This impactful series spotlights NBC Connecticut viewers' voices on important issues including the coronavirus pandemic, racial injustice, natural disasters, politics and more. ‘What’s On Your Mind?’ won a Regional Edward R. Murrow Award for Excellence in Innovation. Dan has also been honored with multiple Boston/New England Regional Emmy Awards.
One of Dan's most memorable stories as a reporter featured a young woman’s heartbreaking online plea for a kidney donor. Dan followed her condition for several months. Fortunately, a viewer learned of her struggle and offered to help. The series inspired Dan to become an organ donor himself.
Before calling Connecticut home, Dan served as a storyteller for the nationally syndicated lifestyle show, "The List." He also served as lead news reporter and fill-in anchor at the NBC affiliate in West Palm Beach and was previously a reporter and anchor in Eugene, Oregon. Prior to living on the west coast, Dan worked behind the scenes as a news producer in Manchester, New Hampshire. He began his career as an intern with NBC’s Today Show in New York City.
Dan is a native of New England, having grown up in Haverhill, Massachusetts. He graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and the Connecticut School of Broadcasting.
Dan calls West Hartford home and enjoys spending time outdoors with his husband and two dogs.
